Protest continued to rock Osmania University for the second day in a row on Tuesday following the proposal of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to construct houses for poor on 11 acres of land in the campus.
A large group of people under the aegis of Osmania University Unemployment Students Joint Action Committee (OUUSJAC) took out a mock funeral of the Chief Minister within the campus premises. Raising slogans the protesters warned the government against going ahead with the proposal.
The OUUSJAC gave a bandh call on May 21 across all education institutions in Telangana. A protest meeting is also planned on May 29. It also said that it will not only boycott but also foil the Telangana Formation Day celebrations to be held on June 2.
“Despite the Chief Minister promising jobs and improving educational standards nothing has happened in the State,” J Kalyan, Chairman OUUSJAC said.
