The marketing intelligence team of Hyderabad Central Crime Station on Saturday arrested a man on charge of cheating people by promising to huge remuneration for data entry work.
K. Sathish alias Swamy alias Ravi placed advertisements in vernacular dailies and offered Rs. 90 per page for data entry work.
“Sathish asked the job aspirants to deposit Rs. 3,000 in a particular bank account as security deposit.
After collecting the money, Sathish used to assign them some work, but he used to avoid payment on one or the other pretext,” Inspector G. Shankar Raju said.
The police recovered a laptop, three mobile phones and Rs. 95,000 cash from the accused.

house looted
Burglars broke into the house of a bank employee at Nallakunta on Friday night and decamped with gold and silver ornaments worth Rs. 5 lakh and Rs. 10,000 cash. Vishnu Gokul, who works as at Bank of America in Hitech city went to his relatives place at Himayatnagar in the evening and stayed their for the night.
On Saturday, when he returned home, he found the main door lock broken and house ransacked.
“The burglars gained entry by breaking open the lock, collected the articles from the cupboards and escaped,” Nallakunta police said. The police identified the burglars with the help of footage collected from the closed circuit cameras installed and detained a few persons for questioning.
Toddler hit by car
A 14-month-old boy died after being hit by a car at Shaikpet on Saturday afternoon. The child, Rahul, was playing in front of his house at Marutinagar in Shaikpet when a Scorpio car driven by Rajendra Prasad hit him, Golconda Inspector Khaleel Pasha said.
Death was instant for the child.
Soon after the accident, locals staged a demonstration demanding action against the driver. On receipt of information, the police rushed to the spot and pacified the relatives. The body was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary.
