A two-day real estate event — 11th National Association of Realtors (NAR) India Convention and Expo — will be held on August 24-25 at the HICC, Madhapur, here with the objective of “streamlining the profession of real estate to achieve transparency, accountability and ethical practices”.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, A. Sumanth Reddy, president of Hyderabad Realtors Association (HRA) and president elect of NAR; Shailendra Singh, chairman of the convention; and J. Sarith, honorary secretary, said the theme of the convention is “Game Changers”.
About 1,500 delegates from across the country and the world are expected to participate in the convention which will be bringing together realtors, developers, investors, and other stakeholders in the real estate industry to interact, learn and create “meaningful business connections” with each other.
The organisers said introduction of the RERA (Real Estate Regulation and Development) Act has changed the dynamics of the sector and everyone from property agents onwards need to upgrade their skills.
Commercial space
About the scenario in the capital, they observed that there is a scarcity of ‘grade A’ commercial space in the city but it is on the rise at 8 million sq.ft. and inching towards Bengaluru’s 13 million sq.ft.
The government’s thrust on urban development and infrastructure development comes as a big boost to the realtor community, they added.
Celebrity guests
HRA vice president A. Jagadish informed that prominent personalities like celebrity chef Sanjeev Kapoor, author Devdutt Patnaik, ISB dean Rajendra Srivastava and Cyient chairman B.V.R. Mohan Reddy will address the convention, which is being supported by Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India and National Real Estate Development Council.
