A newly-married man allegedly killed his wife by pushing her off the third floor of an under-construction residential complex in Shakti Nagar of Vanasthalipuram on Wednesday night.
Seema Damahe died while undergoing treatment at Osmania General Hospital while her husband Dilip (24) is absconding.
Vanasthalipuram police said that Seema, who was a native of Balagarh in MP, fell in love with Dilip of Dhule in Maharashtra and they got married nearly 20 days ago.
The couple came to Hyderabad on Wednesday and worked as construction labourers at Shakti Nagar. “Around 8.30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dilip took Seema to the third floor of the building and pushed her off. She was then rushed to Osmania General Hospital,” inspector A. Venkataiah said.
Suspecting it to be a pre-planned murder, the police officer said that the couple had a heated exchange of words, following which Dilip started beating up his wife and then pushed her off the building.
They were living at the construction site.
The co-workers told police that the couple were quite happy and the incident came as a shock for them.
