Lake police rescue woman trying to commit suicide

Lake police rescued a woman who wanted to commit suicide by jumping into Hussainsagar on Sunday night. The woman, aged 33 years and staying at Indira Park, had some financial issues with her husband and brother-in-law, the police said. On Sunday, the Lake police patrol saw the woman moving suspiciously near the Lepakshi store at Tank Bund. When they approached her, she poured out her woes and told them she wanted to end her life. The police counselled the woman who has three children.

Man hit by train

A trader died after being reportedly hit by a train at Khairtabad railway station on Monday morning. The man K. Ramulu of Khairatabad and hailing from Warangal was walking on the tracks when he was hit by a Hyderabad-bound MMTS train, the railway police said.

Car knocks down pedestrian

A pedestrian was killed after being run over by a BMW car at Outer Ring Road Gachibowli on Monday morning. The man, P Raghavulu (45), who works as a gardener at Maulana Azad National Urdu University was coming out from the MANUU staffer’s quarters and crossing the road when the mishap took place, Gachibowli sub-inspector Venkatesh said. He sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. The police took the driver into custody and seized the vehicle.

Couple commits suicide

In a tragic incident a couple allegedly hanged themselves to death over financial problems at their house in Maheshwaram in Ranga Reddy district on Sunday evening.

According to the police, Bhaskar (30) and Sharada (27) were married seven years ago and have two daughters aged two-and-a-half years and one year respectively. On Sunday evening, the locals found them hanging from the ceiling in their house and alerted Maheshwaram police. The cops shifted the bodies to Osmania General Hospital mortuary.

Their relatives told the police that Bhaskar worked as a private security guard but was not attending work for the last few days. “The couple were facing financial hardships for last few days and were worried about the future of their children. They slipped into depression over it and might have ended their lives,” the police said.

Woman hit by train dies

In another accident on railway tracks, at Sanathnagar a housewife Manjula (45) died after being hit by a train on Monday. The woman hailing from Vikarabad in Ranga Reddy district came to the city along with her husband Tukaram a few days ago and they were returning to their native place. Instead of taking the foot over bridge, the couple preferred the railway tracks to reach platform number 2. While Tukaram reached the platform, his wife could not make it and was hit by an MMTS train, the railway police said.

Boy knocked down by unknown vehicle

An eleven-year-old boy who sustained injuries after being hit allegedly by an unknown vehicle at Jeedimetla on Sunday night succumbed on Monday, the police said. The boy, Md Adnan of Gajularamaram, was playing near his house when an unknown vehicle hit him. He sustained injuries and was rushed to Gandhi Hospital for treatment where he died while undergoing treatment on Monday morning.
