The Telangana Government is planning to fast-track the process of setting up a world-class Pharma City at Mucherla in Ranga Reddy district at the earliest by speeding up land acquisition and taking up infrastructure development.

Minister for Industries Jupally Krishna Rao on Friday asked the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) and Roads & Buildings Department to prepare a detailed project report on laying 200-feet wide road from Srisailam highway to Mucherla, where the pharma city is being planned. He held a review meeting with all the line departments for the purpose. When enquired about land acquisition and resuming the land assigned to Deccan Infrastructure Land Holding Ltd (DIL), Joint Collector of Ranga Reddy Rajit Kumar Saini informed the Minister that resuming the 3,500 acres land allotted but unused land from DIL would be completed by the month-end. The acquisition of patta and forest lands is also being processed simultaneously. District officials of Mahabubnagar were instructed to speed up identification and transfer of the necessary alternative government land to the Forest Department in lieu of the latter’s land to be utilised for pharma city. The Minister asked the Rural Water Supply Department to prepare DPR to include water requirements for the pharma city in the water grid project.

Managing Director of TSIIC E. Venkat Narsimha Reddy and officials of R&B told the Minister that the detailed project report for the 200-feet wide road from Srisailam highway and other alternative routes from the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to Mucherla would be submitted in a week.

Further, the Minister told the officials to ask Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services (IL&FS) to finalise expression of interest (EOI) to prepare a master plan of pharma city, taking into consideration the features and plans of the China Pharma City.
