Hamdard Laboratories India, the entity behind the popular RoohAfza sharbat, Safi blood purifier and a range of Unani medicines, is considering setting up a facility in south India.
All its three existing plants are in north India - at Manesar, Delhi and Ghaziabad - and the company had recently acquired land for establishing the a facility near Aurangabad and getting close to customers in the western region.
With south India contributing to around 20% of the turnover, the company is also evaluating the prospects of having a plant in the region, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Mansoor Ali said here on Wednesday.
He was speaking at the Hyderabad launch of RoohAfza Fusion, a ready to drink beverage that is combination of RoohAfza with pure fruit juice. The new product that comes in tetrapack is available in five flavours and priced at ₹ 20 per 200ml pack. The launch follows the test marketing of the product in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, he said, adding that based on the customer feedback the packaging had been revamped. The company sought to market the product through 60,000 to 70,000 outlets across the country.
Speaking on the prompt behind introducing RoohAfza Fusion, Mr. Ali said that there was a growing consumer preference for non-carbonated drinks such as natural, fruit juices without preservatives.
