A special green corridor was created between Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad, and Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad on Monday to transport a live heart.

With the help of traffic police from Hyderabad and Cyberabad, a distance of 35 km was covered in 30 minutes by the ambulance. The medical team carrying the live organ left the hospital at 12.33 p.m. and reached RGIA at 1.03 p.m.

On January 10, traffic cops had created a green corridor to enable two ambulances to transport a heart from Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad, to RGIA and lungs, eyes and kidneys from Yashoda to Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills. In the latter case, a distance of 12 km was covered in 12 minutes.
