With an aim to make obtaining building permission hassle-free for those looking forward for an independent house, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to keep 2,000 online building plans ready by May 1.

The plans, which would be prepared keeping in mind the plots of 200 square yards, 300 square yards and 500 square yards, would be made available on the GHMC website.

Permissions would be given within 48 hours if the online applicants submit pre-approved building plans, besides fulfilling other requirements, a statement from the civic body said.

GHMC Commissioner M. Dana Kishore, while discussing the details during a meeting on Thursday, directed the officials to conduct zone-wise meetings for enlightening the prospective home owners about building permissions.

At another meeting, he directed the officials to keep the GHMC citizen service centres across the city open on holidays too, for payment of property tax under the Early Bird scheme.
