On Tuesday, Wyra town was swathed in red hues as scores of CPI(M) cadre carrying red flags took out a huge rally in the town to mark the filing of nomination by Bahujan Left Front (BLF)-backed CPI(M) candidate Bukya Veerabhadram from the ST-reserved Wyra Assembly seat.
Mr Veerabhadram submitted his nomination papers to Joint Collector Ayesha Masrath Khanam, Returning Officer of Wyra constituency, at the tehsildar’s office. CPI(M) district secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao accompanied him.
Later, addressing a meeting held in the town, party State secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram said the CPI(M)-BLF is committed to bring social justice and ensure social, economic and political empowerment of Bahujans.
Mr Bukya Veerabhadram has a proven track record in espousing the cause of farmers, including tenant and podu cultivators in the district, the party State secretary said. He called upon people to elect him and enable him to be the voice of farmers and toiling masses in the Assembly.
