Collector M. Hanumantha Rao has issued memos to a sarpanch and vice- sarpanch for neglecting the 30-day village development programme. Three officials were also issued memos.

Mr. Hanumantha Rao visited Mansanpally village in Andol mandal on Thursday and was unhappy over the poor sanitation. He found that the garbage was thrown all over the streets with no one taking accountability, despite the government taking up the prestigious village development programme.

The Collector immediately issued memos to village sarpanch G. Sujatha, vice-sarpanch Narayana, field assistant Santosh Kumar, panchayat secretary Manoj and lineman Ch Ambaiah. He warned that action would be initiated against them if the situation is not improved within one week.

“The government has initiated the 30-day action plan for the development of villages. Every villager must take part in this and change the face of village. A special officer was appointed for each village for this purpose,” said Mr. Hanumantha Rao.
