Citizen respond positively to hotels inspection

In the backdrop of inspections at hotels, Municipal Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy held a meeting with the officials of veterinary wing, food inspectors and zonal officers on Tuesday.

While interacting with the the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials, the Commissioner informed that citizens were giving positive response to the inspection of hotels and restaurants. He directed the officials to take precautionary measures and also impose penalty in a transparent manner.

The Commissioner said that inspections should be conducted by opting for a lottery system to select hotels in the presence of Health, Police, Hyderabad Water Board and related departments. The officials must also ensure that appropriate steps and precautionary measures are adopted while preparing Haleem through Bhattis for the ensuing Ramzan festival, he instructed.

The GHMC had taken up special drive of inspections on various hotels and restaurants in the last few weeks.
