Academic Pentathlon-2, a competition that covers five fields – math, physics and chemistry quiz, elocution in English and fine arts (music, dance and skit) – would be organised by The Hindu and Vignan University on November 3. The event is being re-hosted owing to the overwhelming response to its first edition.

Students of classes XI and XII can participate. Each team should have ten students. The top three teams with the maximum overall score in all the five fields would win. They would also qualify for the grand finale to be held at Vignan University in Guntur district.

The regional round on November 3 would be held at Avinash College of Commerce, near Ranga Reddy District Court at L.B. Nagar. Students should report at the venue by 9 a.m. The first prize winner gets ₹50,000 and a scholarship that covers 50% of Vignan University fee. The second and the third prize winners get ₹30,000 and ₹20,000 respectively, besides a scholarship of 25% on the fee amount. The regional winners would be eligible for scholarship of 10% on the fee amount.

For free registration, schools or colleges should send the list of participants to ravisankar.m@thehindu.co.in . For any assistance, contact M. Ravi Sankar on 9010588788.
