1,020 kg of marijuana seized by NCB

The Narcotics Control Bureau, Hyderabad sub-zone, on Wednesday recovered 1,020 kilograms of ganja from a truck in Rajendra Nagar here.

The contraband was concealed beneath 18 metric tonnes of coal powder, a press release said. The officials used an excavator to remove the coal powder.

“The consignment was getting transported to Zaheerabad from Visakhapatnam,” the official said.

A 39-year-old truck driver from Bidar in Karnataka was arrested and a probe is on.

A total of 4,557 kilograms of ganja was seized by the NCB of Hyderabad sub-zone in the year 2018-19.
