The Patancheru police have arrested 10 persons in connection with the murder of Mahaboob Hussain, 30, at Rudraram on May 31.

A resident of Bholakpur near Musheerabad, he was murdered in broad daylight with a hunting sickle. During the investigation, the police found it was a sequel to the murder of one Mohammad Arashad Hussain of Charlapally. His family members conspired to eliminate Mahaboob Hussain and hired a gang from Gulbarga to do the job. Mahaboob Hussain, an accused in the murder case of Arashad Hussain, was returning home after attending court when he was hacked to death in the middle of the road.

The police arrested three siblings – Asif Hussain, Akhil Hussain and Ansari Hussain – who hatched a plan to eliminate Mahaboob Hussain. They have also identified the gang, headed by one Kaleel of Gulbarga, who took ₹6 lakh from the family of Ansari to kill Mahaboob Hussain. They have recovered two cars, one sickle, one dagger and ₹50,000 from the accused. Revealing these details at a press conference at Patancheru on Tuesday, DSP R. Rajeswara Rao said the other arrested were identified as Mohd. Abdul Mannan, Mohammad Mahaboob Ladhaf, Mohammad Khaleel, Mohd. Ahmad, Mohammad Baba, Mohammad Abdul Aziz, Mohd. Fizan and Mohd. Habeeb.
