Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Monday said that strict action would be taken against the former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Congress MLA Karan Dalal for meeting the rape victim in Rewari without the consent of doctors.

Mr. Vij said even though the doctors had informed Mr. Hooda and Mr. Dalal that the victim was not fit to interact, yet they met her.

‘Against the protocol’

“This is against the protocol. They also threatened the doctors which is a step in the direction of causing chaos. Necessary action would be taken against them after investigation,” he said.

Meanwhile, Haryana Director-General of Police B.S. Sandhu directed the police officers to adopt ‘free registration and quick action’ strategy to deal with criminals especially those involved in crime against women.

“Any lapse in this regard will be viewed seriously and officer-official concerned would be held responsible for any kind of negligence,” said Mr. Sandhu.
