Two persons were shot and another wounded for resisting a robbery in Ghaziabad’s Loni in the small hours of Monday, the police said.

The robbers decamped with cash and valuables worth over ₹3 lakh, they said, adding that provision store owner Dharmavir Sharma and his neighbour Sonu were killed during the incident.

SP (Rural) Neeraj Kumar Jadaun said the incident happened when six armed robbers reached the store where Sharma was sleeping outside and the shutter was partly open.

Barged into house

One of the robbers asked Sharma to fetch him a glass of water.

When Sharma entered the house, they also forced their way in and overpowered the whole family, the police said. When Sharma and his son resisted them, the accused shot him. While fleeing the spot, they were nabbed by two family members.

The robbers then fired at. The case is under investigation, the officer said.
