Two persons were arrested on Friday for allegedly stabbing a 35-year-old man to death, the police said on Saturday. The incident was reported from south-east Delhi’s Jaitpur, they said.
DCP (South East) Chinmoy Biswal said that the accused — Aamir (24) and Zakir (35) — both from Dakshinpuri, were arrested for allegedly killing one Jagdish, resident of Madanpur Khadar. The victim was found with a stab injury around 2 a.m. on Friday after which he was rushed to a hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead, the police said.
With the help of CCTV footage of the area and local intelligence, the police identified the accused and later arrested them.
The accused allegedly told the police that on Thursday night, they had gone to meet a woman in Madanpur Khadar and on way back home, they had a quarrel with some local boys due to which “they were frustrated”. “Then they met Jagdish who asked them what they were doing in the area. On this, the accused men got agitated and stabbed the victim to death,” Mr. Biswal said.
