A 19-year-old has alleged that her landlord and his four friends abducted her in a car and gang-raped her in a house before dumping her on the outskirts of Capital in the early hours of January 3. While three of the accused have been arrested, two are still absconding.
The victim got married recently and was staying with her parents in Alipur.
She alleged that on January 2 evening she had gone to a nearby market, when her landlord and his friends reached there in his car.
Claiming that his mother had taken ill, he asked her to accompany him to the hospital where she had been admitted.
The teenager alleged that the five accused took her to a house, where they forced her to consume liquor and then raped her. According to the victim, they then dumped her at Tikri Khurd and vanished from the scene.
She contacted her parents and then lodged a complaint with the police.
“The victim herself led us to the houses of the accused persons, three of whom have been arrested. The landlord and another person whose identity is still not clear have not been arrested yet,” said a police officer. Enquires revealed that four of the accused were known to the victim and that she was friends with the landlord, who got married a couple of days ago.
Consultant held
In another case reported at Shakarpur police station, a 25-year-old consultant has been arrested for allegedly sexually exploiting a 23-year-old woman on the false promises of marriage.
The complainant said the accused earlier worked with her in the same company. He had later set up his own consultancy firm.
Doctor arrested for rape
In yet another case, a 50-year-old doctor has been arrested for allegedly raping his employee and trying to extort money from her at Patel Nagar here.
The 35-year-old victim had joined a private clinic run by the accused four years ago and the doctor had started exploiting her sexually soon after, said the police. The doctor had invested some money in a scheme expecting good returns. He came to know about the scheme through the victim.
“Once he stopped receiving returns, the accused started threatening her that if she stopped paying him, he would tell her husband about their physical relationship,” a police officer said.
The woman lodged a complaint at a police station in Patel Nagar on Monday and a case was registered under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 376 (rape) and 384 (punishments for extortion) of the Indian Penal Code.
The accused was arrested the following day and subsequently produced in court, which sent him to one day police custody.
