The Delhi Police on Tuesday disciplined five policemen in connection with murder of a resident in south-east Delhi’s Taimoor Nagar on Sunday.

Rupesh was shot dead outside his home by unidentified men. The police suspect the role of alleged drug sellers in the area, against whom the victim had complained on several occasions.

A day after vigilance enquiry was ordered against alleged lapses by the local police leading to the murder, and consequent law and order situation, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) Chinmoy Biswal said Station House Officer inspector Sushil Kumar and division officer sub-inspector Rajender have been sent to district lines, while beat officers head constable Ajay, and constables Surender and Hari Chand have been placed under suspension.
