Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday finally opened up on his colleague Somnath Bharti who has been on the run ever since the Delhi High Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea a day ago.

Mr. Kejriwal took to Twitter to say that Mr. Bharti should surrender before police as he was becoming an embarassment for his family and party.

"Somnath shud surrender. Why is he running away? Why is he so scared of gng to jail? Now he is becoming embarassment for party n his family," Mr. Kejriwal said in one tweet. "He shud cooperate wid police'" he added.

Police onTuesday raided the residence and office of Mr. Bharti who has been accused by his estranged wife of domestic violence and attempting to kill her.

Late on Tuesday, police teams picked up his brother and an associate for questioning about Mr. Bharti's whereabouts. Police have threatened to book all those who have helped in harbouring the AAP legislator and former Delhi Law Minister.
