Man injured in fight with wife, dies

She also sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at AIIMS: police

A 26-year-old man died after sustaining serious injuries during a quarrel with his wife in south Delhi’s Aya Nagar, the police said on Tuesday.

They received a call at 12.30 a.m. about an injured woman lying in Aya Nagar. A team rushed to the spot and found the injured couple.

Chhutki and her husband Rana were rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre. Rana was declared brought dead, said DCP (South) Romil Baaniya.The couple is from West Bengal’s Malda district and had been living in Aya Nagar for the past three months.

They used to have frequent altercations as Rana was an alcoholic, the officer said. It is suspected that a discussion on Rana’s drinking habits turned violent. Chhutki has also sustained serious injuries in the attack, the police said.

A case has been registered. Chhutki is yet to regain consciousness.
