Man coaxes another to take exam on his behalf, held

A 22-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly making another person sit for an examination conducted for the post of multi-tasking staff for the Railways on his behalf, the police said on Tuesday.

The accused has been identified as Shailesh Kumar, a resident of Bihar’s Gaya district, they said.

Police said that on Monday Shailesh came to the Dedicated Freight Corridors Corporation India Limited, Ministry of Railway office at Pragati Maidan for biometric examination and it did not match his profile. When questioned, he disclosed that he made one Roshan Kumar take the examination on his behalf and promised him ₹5 lakh if he clear the test which was conducted on September 10. The accused was arrested on charges of cheating and punishment for cheating by impersonation.
