Man brandishes pistol at Delhi 5-star hotel, case registered

In a video that has gone viral on social media, a man can be seen brandishing a pistol trying to threaten a man and a woman at the foyer of Hyatt Regency Hotel in Delhi's RK Puram. The incident happened in the early hours of Monday and was reported to police during the day.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West) Devender Arya said that the police received a complaint from the hotel's Assistant Security Manager after which a case under relevant sections of Arms Act has been registered.

In the video shared one of the hotel's employees on social media, the accused, yet to be identified, holds a pistol and abuses the man and woman standing at the foyer.

The woman who was with the accused tries to stop him though she can be heard abusing the two as well. The accused then sits in his vehicle where two persons including another woman are already sitting. One of them can be heard calling the other party as 'Transexuals'. The video was taken by one of the four occupants of the car.

 A senior police officer said that the two parties started arguing after the man standing at the foyer accidentally entered the woman's washroom where in the women who had come with the accused were also present.

 "The argument started from there and continued outside" the officer said.

 Mr Arya said that the video footage and other CCTV footage from the hotel will be used  to identify the accused.
