Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has broken into the top 800 universities on the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings list.
JMI ranked at 751-800, a few notches higher than Amity University, which stands at 801-1000, also for the first time.
IIT-Delhi’s 172nd ranking is identical to that of last year’s.
While the University of Delhi fell in the 481-490 bracket last year, it has earned a ranking of 487 on the 2019 list.
In 2018, only a total of 20 Indian universities and two Delhi-based colleges earned a place on the prestigious list.
However, the 2019 rankings include 24 Indian and four Delhi-based institutions.
