Govt likely to appeal in SC today

As both the elected government and the Lieutenant-Governor’s office continued to debate the ongoing tussle over who had a say in matters related to Services, the Delhi government is likely to appeal to the Supreme Court on Tuesday to dispose of its appeal on the matter in addition to others.

“Will be mentioning the matter first thing tomorrow morning before Hon’ble SC with a request to dispose of all our appeals including the one on “Services” at the earliest possible [sic],” the Delhi government’s Standing Counsel [criminal] Rahul Mehra tweeted. Earlier in the day, CM Arvind Kejriwal wrote to L-G Anil Baijal wondering how he can be “selective” in accepting the judgment on power tussle between the AAP government and the Centre. The L-G wrote back saying that he was charged “erroneously” by him.
