A fake admission racket operating in some prestigious Delhi University colleges has been busted.

Police have arrested four persons, some of who approached probable candidates and others who procured fake documents.

Senior police officers said so far 21 fake admissions this year have been detected. Admissions were procured into 10 colleges, including Hindu College and Kirorimal College.

"A large number of forged mark sheets, degrees, character certificates, computer, printers and stamps of different government universities and other institutions have been seized," said a senior police officer.

The arrests were made on Wednesday while the suspects were headed to a DU college to procure admission for one of the candidates.

The suspects mainly prepared the forged documents pertaining to UP and Bihar board. To avoid detection of forged documents, they even created fake websites of UP, MP and Bihar board.

"They used to feed the details of the fake certificates/mark sheets in these fake websites so that positive result could be achieved on online verification by the college," the officer added.

Police said the racketeers were involved in this act since last three years and charged between Rs. 3 lakh and Rs.7 lakh from the students.
