A 17-year-old boy was killed allegedly after a train ran him over at railway lines near north-east Delhi’s Welcome on Monday evening. The boy had earphones plugged in when his body was found, the police said on Tuesday.

The victim, Arbaz, a Class XII student, had left his house with a couple of friends in the evening and an hour later, the family received a call that he had met with an accident.

Kin suspect foul play

When the police reached the spot, they found Arbaz lying dead with his headphones plugged in. “It appears he was listening to music while walking close to the track and didn’t hear or see the train coming,” said a senior police officer. He added that the boy’s family alleges foul play and that the police are looking into the case from all angles.
