Hours after they emerged, the Lieutenant-Governor's office denied reports of a Delhi Government nod to the induction of Bihar police officials in its anti-graft unit.
The statement from Raj Niwas said: "Delhi’s Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), being a police station, functioned under the authority, control and supervision of the L-G whose office, so far, had not received any proposal for the deputation of such personnel from outside Delhi police".
"The matter will be duly examined as and when the Lt. Governor receives the formal proposal from the Vigilance department of Delhi government," the statement added.
Responding to the LG's response, a senior functionary in the AAP government underlined that "Delhi High Court has already settled the issue of jurisdiction of the ACB and there is no confusion".
The official added that the proposal is still at preliminary stage "and will be shared with LG office as and when required". "Moreover, as yet the State government hasn't written to any other State's CM or sought police officials from other States."
