Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee activists, led by DPCC president Ajay Maken, held a massive demonstration at Shiv Vihar in Mustafabad Assembly constituency here on Saturday to protest against what they termed the “anti-people policies” of the BJP-led Government in the Centre and the Aam Aadmi Party Government in Delhi.

The protesters raised slogans against the worsening power and water situation in the Capital and alleged that the AAP Government had let down people and failed to tackle the water and power crisis and check the price rise, which was making people’s life difficult.

The demonstration was organised by DPCC minority cell chairman Ali Mehdi and addressed by leaders such as former MP Jai Prakash Agarwal, former MLAs Hasan Ahmed and Chaudhary Mateen Ahmed and Brahm Yadav, Narendern Nath and Bhisham Sharma.

Addressing the demonstrators, Mr. Maken said that the Arvind Kejriwal Government had failed to work out any summer action plan to address the problems.

“Mr. Kejriwal came to power on the basis of promises for giving power at concessional rates and water free of cost, but at the onset of summer, power and water supply has gone haywire with regular power cuts and terrible water shortage harassing people,” said Mr. Maken.
