Burger lands man in hospital

A man was hospitalised with an injury to the pharynx after he allegedly ate a burger with a piece of plastic in it at Rajiv Chowk metro station on Sunday, the police said on Monday.

The incident happened at an outlet of a popular United States-based fast-food chain.

Rakesh Kumar had eaten the burger at the Burger King outlet when he started feeling nauseous, he said in his complaint to the police.

He informed the outlet shift manager and later the police.

Mr. Kumar He was taken to Lady Hardinge for medical examination, the police said, adding that a piece of plastic was found in the burger that had caused an injury to his pharynx. He was later discharged, they said. The police have registered a case and arrested the outlet shift manager, who was later granted bail.
