In the first 10 days of passenger operations of the Noida-Greater Noida metro corridor, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has generated a daily average revenue of ₹3.6 lakh, said officials.
With a daily average of 11,389 ridership, the NMRC recorded a total of 1.25 lakh ridership till February 5.
NMRC officials said that with a ridership of 2,443, Noida Sector 51 station recorded the highest ridership while the ridership at Noida Sector 147 was the lowest with 29.
Other busy stations
Among the other busy stations are Pari Chowk, Knowledge Park II, NSEZ and Sector 137 stations while Noida sectors 146,145,144 and 148 stations are the ones with the lowest ridership.
Officials added that the corridor saw the highest ridership on January 27 when the average was approximately 13,870 and revenue generated was ₹4.45 lakh.
Not seamless yet
Commuting on the Aqua Line, which promises better connectivity between Noida and Greater Noida, is not yet seamless as it is not directly connected to the Delhi Metro’s Blue Line.
Additionally, the tokens and smart cards issued by the Delhi Metro cannot be used on the Aqua Line, officials said.
Senior Noida Metro Rail Corporation officials added that separate metro cards and QR ticket sale are in use for travel on the line.
The NRMC has generated a average daily revenue of ₹475, ₹9,294 and ₹1.4 lakh in card sale, QR ticket sale and top-up respectively, added the official.
The 30-km long Aqua Line was inaugurated by Union Minister Hardeep Puri and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on January 25 while passenger operations on the corridor started on January 26.
