DPS Noida team wins top prize in junior category

Ayush Sharma and M. Rishivarun of Haridwar’s Acharyakulam and Rushil Rawat and Arghya Shubhshiv of Delhi Public School, Noida, emerged champions in the Senior and Junior categories respectively in the New Delhi round of The Hindu Young World Quiz here on Tuesday.

The annual event hosted by The Hindu's resident quizmaster V.V. Ramanan, now in its 18th edition, saw participation from around 300 students at the the Army Public School (Dhaula Kuan) auditorium.

In the Junior category held in the morning, two teams from Modern School, Barakhamba Road, and Sachdeva Global School along with a team from Amity International School-46, Gurugram, joined the DPS team in the final round held after a written preliminaries that saw some high scoring. The Noida team was off to a flyer and maintained a comfortable lead to win with a margin of 100 points from Amity.

The Senior final was a reprise of the junior category summit clash with the Haridwar boys stepping on the accelerator from the word go and surging to the top prize with 51 points separating them and the team from DPS, Vasant Kunj. The other finalists were drawn from Modern School, Barakhamba Road, and Amity International School, Gurugram.

The finalists were given trophies, certificates and gift hampers from Eveready with the champion in the Senior section also getting a cycle from Fantom Bikes.
