Three police personnel, including a woman Head Constable, were on Thursday suspended and a Vigilance inquiry ordered after a woman claimed that she was forced by police to strip in front of her son and allegedly asked to have sex with him after the boy was arrested on charges of stealing money.

The woman residing in a slum cluster in Delhi has filed a complaint in this regard with Delhi Police Commissioner Y.S. Dadwal. According to the complainant, the incident took place in the last week of May in the presence of a woman police Head Constable.

The investigation has been transferred to Vigilance Wing of Delhi Police, a senior police officer said.

Woman Head Constable Amrita Singh and Constables Pramod Kumar and Santosh of Delhi Police were suspended from service pending inquiry, the officer said.

Police had apprehended the woman’s two sons on May 22 for allegedly stealing money from a car and she and her husband had gone to the police station to meet their sons. They were allegedly abused by police and they came back the next day.

The woman claimed that on May 23, when the couple went to the police station she was confined to a room after police asked her husband and younger son go out.

Then they started questioning her elder son in her presence and demanded that they return Rs 6,000 missing from the car.

When they denied that they had stolen the money, she claimed, one of the policemen asked her to strip. She alleged that the policeman beat her up and forced her to strip when she refused.

Then one of the policemen asked the woman to have sex with her son, she alleged. After this, another policeman asked her to have sex with him.

She said they begged them to free them and after two hours they were freed.

A senior police officer said Assistant Commissioner of Police (Rajouri Garden) has been asked to investigate the matter.

The statements of the woman and her elder son have been recorded and the policemen on duty questioned.
