'Police had info on JeM men for 6 months'

The Delhi Police Special Cell convened a press conference to brief the media about the arrests of JeM suspects.

Delhi Police Special Cell on Wednesday detained 12 men, all alleged members of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) following separate raids in Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh's Deoband.

The raids were conducted after inputs from intelligence were received about suspicious activities by "highly radicalised youth" over the past one month.

Arvind Deep, Special CP, Special Cell, convened a press conference to brief the media about the arrests.

3:03 pm Police claims to have enough evidence against the accused. Sajid, Sameer and Shakir are the accused who have been arrested

3:02 pm Upon searching Sajid's house police found that the IED that was burnt and sent it for forensic examination

3:01 pm Sajid one of the accused was injured yesterday while assembling an IED. This gave a tipoff to the police and they reached their hideout

3:00 pm Meetings of the suspects were also covered by the cops

2:59 pm Police had information for the last 6 months that members belonging to Jaish e Mohammad are hiding in Delhi/NCR area
