In view of the flood situation in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, Railways today decided to cancel a few trains originating from Delhi and divert the Ernakulum-bound Mangala Express from its scheduled route.

“Railways decided to cancel some trains today since the corresponding trains have not arrived in the capital yet.

Train services have been badly hit in these states,” sources in Railways said.

The cancelled trains are Bangalore-bound Rajdhani Express and Karnataka Express.

An official release also said that Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express between Hazrat Nizamuddin and Yashwantpur will not run on October 5.

Flash floods in these two states has so far claimed 148 lives. Railway tracks have been submerged in many places which has left several trains stranded midway.

Mangala Express will run via Tirupati, Gudur and Vijayawada instead of its original route.
