A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a juvenile neighbour in east Delhi’s Pandav Nagar area on Friday night. The juvenile lives in the same slum clusters of Shashi Garden area. He has been apprehended.
“The incident took place when the victim was returning from a shop. The accused approached her and asked her to come to with him.
“When she resisted, he forcibly took her to his house and raped her. He also threatened her not to disclose the matter to any one in her family,” said a senior police officer.
However, after reaching home, when her parents enquired about the delay in returning, she narrated her ordeal to them and the matter was reported to the police.
A case was immediately registered under POCSO Act and the accused was apprehended on Saturday, the officer said.
