Woman dies at hospital

Forty-year-old G. Vijayalakshmi, the woman from Kollam, Kerala, who had attempted suicide in a lodge in the city on Sunday, died on Monday at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.

She had slit her wrist with a blade in the room she had rented with her lover, Anil Kumar, 45, police said. The two had taken on rent the room on Thursday last. Anil Kumar, who too had slit his wrist, was found dead in the room.

The incident came to light when the lodge manager D. Ravi informed the police after finding the two unconscious on Sunday.

Anil Kumar was married and had children and Vijayalakshmi was married to Gopalakrishnan, who had lodged a missing case with the Kollam Police.
