Movement of vehicles on Dhimbam Ghat Section was disrupted for over three hours after a wheat-laden lorry fell on its side at the fourth hairpin bend on Saturday.

The lorry from Tuticorin was on its way to Mysuru. While negotiating the hairpin bend, the driver lost control of the vehicle and the lorry fell on its side. Over 20 wheat bags were damaged. Movement of vehicles came to a halt on both the sides. Vehicles from Mysore were stopped at Hasanur, while those from Sathyamangalam were stopped at Bannari. Passengers of TNSTC buses and other road users helped clear the bags. A recovery van removed the lorry from the road and traffic resumed after three hours.
