District Collector H. Krishnanunni inspected various development works being carried out at ₹1.86 crore for tourists at Gunderipallam dam in Gobichettipalayam taluk here on Tuesday.
Works include constructing a rest room at ₹26.64 lakh, waiting hall, improving basic amenities and providing drinking water supply at ₹25.22 lakh and establishing park space and protection wall at ₹78.31 lakh. He also inspected works to lay the approach road at ₹56.23 lakh. The Collector said that all the works were completed and were ready for public use.
Inspecting the parks in the dam area, Mr. Krishnanunni asked officials to maintain it properly and also verified the water level, inflow and discharge in the dam. He said that all the works would promote tourism and bring in more tourists.
Assistant Executive Engineer Thirumoorthy, Assistant Engineer Kalpana, Gobichettipalayam Tahsildar Thiyagarajan and other officials were present.
