Three missing cases reported

City police on Friday and Saturday registered three missing cases. In the first case, the Ramanathapuram police registered a case based on a complaint from Gopichand of Roopa Nagar, who stated his wife of five years Lakshmi and two-and-half-year-old son went missing since Friday.

The police said that following frequent disputes between the husband and wife, the woman took the baby out on Friday saying that she was going to the temple. She did not return. In the second case, registered by the Singanallur police, 17-year-old Asina did not return home from work on Friday. Her father Amanullah had lodged a complaint. The girl worked in a shop at Gandhipuram. In the third case, Venugopal of Varadarajapuram said that his daughter Manju, who worked at a shop in Pappampatti Pirivu, did not return home.

Youth arrested

The Tirupur Rural police arrested M. Saravnan (24), a resident of Valliyammainagar here, on the charges of torturing a girl student of a Corporation school. Police said the accused was compelling the girl to marry him.

Three held

The Avinashi police on Saturday arrested three persons, including a woman, on the charges of running a brothel at Avinashi-Cheyur road.

Two girls used by the accused for the flesh trade were rescued from the place.
