Coimbatore Corporation on Sunday removed a temporary structure that had come up on the southern bund of the Big Tank.

According to sources, officials led by the Town Planning Office in-charge S. Ravichandran, based on instructions from Deputy Commissioner P. Gandhimathi, removed the shed that was spread over 400 sq.ft.

The sources said that an association had erected the shed a couple of days ago, encroaching on the tank bund. The civic body used its men and machinery to remove the shed.

Likewise, the Town Planning staff also removed advertisement boards on the poles of the Coimbatore City Traffic Police along the Big Bazaar Street, Oppanakara Street, D.B. Road and 100 Feet Road.
