Two sub-inspectors in Udhagamandalam have won the admiration of the local residents with their talent for designing eye-catching awareness posters and videos.

Sub-Inspector K. Anandhraj, attached to Ooty Rural Police, and Sub-Inspector S. Sujith Kumar, posted with the Ooty Town Police, have designed numerous awareness posters on various police mobile applications, including the ‘Kavalan – SOS App’, as well as on safety tips for Deepavali and on accident prevention.

“Recently, we worked on creating awareness about ‘Digilocker App’ that can be used to store vehicle insurance and licence digitally, without the necessity to carry original documents,” said Mr. Anandhraj.

Mr. Anandhraj and Mr. Sujith Kumar have been working on posters for over a year now, and had learned to use editing and designing software in their free time.

“I began designing handbills and posters when I was posted in Gobichettipalayam in Erode district, and kept improving on designs since then. The awareness video for Deepavali released recently was designed with simple phone editor software, said Mr. Anandhraj.

“As many as 27 sub-inspectors from the 2016 batch have been posted in the Nilgiris district. Out of them, 20 are engineering graduates and had joined the police force out of passion to serve the society,” said Mr. Sujith Kumar.
