Lamps made of brass, soap stone, and clay to adorn homes during Karthigai Deepam this year are displayed at the Poompuhar outlet in the city.
A 15-day lamp exhibition “Festival of Lamps” is on at the showroom from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day and the Tamilnadu Handicrafts Development Corporation hopes to earn ₹10 lakh sales in Coimbatore from the sale-cum-expo.
Customers can avail of 10 % to 20 % discount during the two weeks.
Hanging lamps, lamps with deities, adukku lamps, terracotta lamps, perfumed candles, etc are on display.
Malabar deepam, Ashtothra deepam, annam table lamps, paladai lamp, panchatchara lamp, parrot lamp, double thagali lamp, sangu chakra deepam are some of the special attractions.
The products are from the units of Poompuhar in the State, apart from Moradabad, Villupuram, Coimbatore, and Puducherry.
The showroom registered sales for ₹7.45 lakh last year during the lamp festival.
