Founder-president of Sri Ram Sena Pramod Muthalik said India Against Islamic State (IAIS) has been launched to create awareness among the public of the activities of ISIS and its plans to be carried out in India.
Mr. Muthalik was addressing journalists here on Monday after launching the website (www.
indiaagainstislamicstate.
com). The IAIS is promoting patriotism and motivating youth to join the Army and police force. “We are not against Muslims or Islam. We are against terrorism spread by a section of persons under the ISIS banner,” he added.
Ramesh Shinde, spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), said the ISIS is steadily establishing its presence in India.
According to him, this is evident from the arrest of an IT professional at Bengaluru (for providing online content support) and a Hyderabad-based woman for recruiting youth for the ISIS.
Indu Makkal Katchi (Tamilagam) president Arjun Sampath said that the IAIS is not confined to Hindus. Persons from all religious backgrounds (including Muslims) who want to counter terrorism could join it.
The IMK also plans to organise demonstrations at nine toll plazas in the State that continued to collect toll even after the time fixed for the collection had ended.
