Erode electric loco shed has received the plant level certification in ‘5S’- Work Place Management System. It was certified by the Smart Edge Consulting, Hyderabad.
Divisional Railway Manager, Salem, U. Subba Rao, received the certificate from the company at a function held here on Thursday.
A press release from the division said that loco shed has gone through various stages of activities such as sorting and disposing of unwanted materials, placing every item in proper place and standardising the practices of the maintaining documents and labels.
Implementation of 5S system has the following benefits: cleaner and safer work place, improved traceability, easy retrieval of required items, reduction in required space and wastage of time, improved self-discipline and good appearance.
Additional Divisional Railway Manager A. Annadurai appreciated the efforts of K. M. Sathyarathan, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer, and staff of electric loco shed.
