The Nilgiris district administration has opened control rooms to handle emergency situation arising out of heavy rain, said District Collector P. Sankar on Monday. The district has identified 106 places between Coonoor and Burliar as prone to natural calamities. A toll free emergency number 1077 will be in operation round the clock.
