Another case registered against panchayat chief

Police have registered another case against panchayat president of Thennamanallur R. Sivasamy on the charges of waylaying a woman ward councillor of the Panchayat on Thursday.

Thondamuthur Police said that S. Chithra, AIADMK councillor of ward No. 7 in Thennamanallur Panchayat is also a relative of Sivasamy.

It was said that Chithra and a few other councillors were planning to remove Sivasamy belonging to DMK from the president post citing various allegations. Sivasamy also threatened her.

Police registered case against Sivasamy under sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 294B (using foul language) and 506(i) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

The police said that Sivasamy could not be arrested as he was absconding.

Bribe

Earlier, on Wednesday police registered a case against him for allegedly attempting to murder a farmer of the village after he refused to give Rs. 2 lakh as bribe.
