AIDWA alleges irregularities in ration distribution

Members of the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) staged demonstration near Collectorate here on Tuesday protesting against irregularities in ration shops.

Led by State treasurer R. Malliga, the members said that provisions were not supplied regularly to the family card holders. They demanded that action be taken against the erring workers. They urged the government to take steps so that provisions are available to be people without any problems.

Members said that people have to move in search of water everyday in rural areas and urged the government to take steps to solve the drinking water problem. They also wanted the Tasmac shops that were causing hardship to the people be closed and demanded 150 days of work for people under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. They also wanted wages to be paid regularly to the workers.
