Sreesailam Pasupula’s pictures show a plethora of emotions and transport viewers to a different world. It was a treat to view his photographs displayed as part of an exhibition at ICCR Art Gallery in Ravindra Bharathi. The exhibition ‘Transcendence’ showcased photographs selected from his 10-year work. ‘Transcendence’ is about showing the internal being; Every image has a story to narrate,” he shares describing photography as a ‘way of meditation’.

Enhance skills

Originally from Hyderabad, Sreesailam was a wedding and events photographer. He shifted to Mumbai to pursue a master’s diploma in Mumbai. After finishing the course, he began working there as a commercial photographer and for his personal projects has travelled across India. Unlike many other photographers, Sreesailam loves to explore different fields and not restrict himself to one. He is also passionate about travel photography and has clicked beautiful pictures during his travel sojourns. In fact, he bagged the travel photography scholarship to attend ‘Xposure Photography Festival’ in Sharjah in 2016, in addition to winning many international photography awards.

The photography scene in Mumbai is state of the art, he says. “Corporate houses, fashion industry, Bollywood and major international agencies are based in Mumbai and Delhi. The photography scene is vibrant and exciting.” He feels photography has been liberated by digital technology. “It has turned many into photography enthusiasts as people are clicking amazing pictures with even mobiles. But to do some extraordinary work and click great pictures, one needs to do research and have lot of patience.” Presently Sreesailam shuttles between Hyderabad and Mumbai for work.
